School Council

Our school council is made up of two representatives from each class. These members have to give election speeches to their class before formal voting takes place each September, just like a real election.

The elected members then have the job of representing the views of their classes at our weekly meetings as well as all helping with the smooth running of the council. This year our elected chairman is Jared and the vice-chair is Kieron. Jared runs the meetings and makes sure everyone has a say from reception to year six children. During the meetings the council discuss, amongst other things, any issues which have been placed in the Suggestion Box or the “Worry Box”.

The council members are also involved in supporting the annual School Summer Spectacular and Christmas Fair, and have representatives on the Healthy School Committee. This year the council decided that our chosen charities would be LIVES and Sport Relief.

The school council is helped by Mrs Carter, our School Administrator and Mrs Ruddock, one of our class teachers. They attend the meetings and help the council with advice, budget issues and liaising back to the staff.

If you have any questions about the school council please contact a council member or come and see our notice board in school.
