Class Information

Thank you for visiting our class webpage. The children in our class work hard to produce work to a high standard and always strive to do their very best, ably supported by our hardworking and enthusiastic teachers as well as amazing teaching assistants.

Mr Whalley teaches us ICT, Miss Csiba teaches us Music, Mrs Evans teaches us PE  and Mrs Lauder teaches us Spanish.

Many of the children in our class are encouraged to be responsible by taking on specific roles such as: being Eco-Rangers and representing our class voices by being a School Council Representative. We recognise the importance of our children becoming confident and mature members of our school community in preparation for them becoming young adults in the future.

General Information for Parents/Carers

Homework days:

Monday - Maths & Reading Planners

Wednesday - Grammar and Punctuation Homework

Friday - Spellings

Reading is still extremely important and the children should aim to read at least 3 times a week which they need to log in their planners. These are to be handed in on Mondays.  We aim to return them the same day.

We will have two sessions of P.E. each week and these will take place on Thursdays and Fridays. Please remember to bring in the appropriate kit. Please ensure that P.E. kits are in school each day and that if hair is below shoulder length, that it is tied back.

Term 1 2018

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome back all of the children in our class, it has been fantastic to see them coming in so full of enthusiasm. This term our theme is 'Stone Age to Iron Age'. We will be learning about what life was like for humans in the Stone Age using evidence from archaeological sites such as Skara Brae. We will then move on to investigate life in the Bronze and the Iron Ages, focusing on how life change over this period. In English, we will be focusing on the theme of ‘Viewpoints’. The children will be comparing character’s points of view based on the film 'The Croods'. This is linked to our overall theme of Stone Age to Iron Age.

*In Science we will be learning about properties and changing of materials.

*In Art we will be researching cave images and creating a frieze of our own.

*In ICT we will be developing our skills of word processing as well as improving skills in using Microsoft Publisher.

*In Music we will be exploring sound scores and developing our knowledge of pulse, rhythm and duration.
