Enriching Lives

Commemorating the end of WW1

Woodhall Spa Parish Council have purchased a silhouette of a WW1 soldier to commemorate the end of the First World War. The figure is located at the War Memorial on the corner of St Andrews closed churchyard.

The official unveiling was held on Friday 2 November 2018 and two of our year 6 pupils were invited to take part. They wrote a moving poem about what 'Tommy' meant to them, which was read at the ceremony. The Horncastle News was at the unveiling ceremony and produced the following piece, including their poem on the front page.
