1. Use relevant video below -
watch either Mrs Jackson's Group or Miss Cook's Group
2. Complete today's Education City activity
1. Warm up your Maths brain with the BBC Supermovers warm up - the 5 times table with the Posh Pooch!
2. Work through the PowerPoint below - make sure you pause after each question slide to give yourself chance to answer (the answer slides follow each time).
3. Choose a worksheet to complete - there is a 1 or 3 star challenge available.
If you are unable to print the worksheets, make your own cards with different amounts on and spread them out on the table. Choose 3 to order from smallest to greatest. You can also use number cards and order these in the same way.
Today's task is using your work from the last two days to write a retelling of this week's focus text.
The vocabulary work you completed yesterday will help you to add interesting language into your writing.
Try to write at least one sentence for each image. Think carefully about what you would like to include in each sentence, before you start writing, to ensure that each sentence makes sense.
Grown ups at home: Please do not worry if your child is unable to write 8 sentences or more for this task. I would much rather they spent the time talking through the story in their own words and then had a go at writing 3-4 simple sentences, prompted by the images on the sheet. Whilst it is important that the children think carefully about how to spell a word correctly, at this stage in the year, independently using their phonetic knowledge to spell a word (which perhaps means it is not spelt perfectly) is the expectation. For example, writing 'bloo' (for blue) is a phonetically plausible spelling at this stage in the year. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions about this.
Once you have finished, please ask a grown up to email your completed piece of writing to our class email address.
This week we are learning that jobs help people earn money.
Watch the video below.
(Please note it has no sound.)
Remember you can pause it any time to answer the questions with your grown up.
Activity 1. Print out the cards or look at them onscreen.
Can you use them to tell your own stories?
Activity 2. Draw and label your own story.
Talk to your grown up about spending money on things you need and things you would like?
What is the difference?
