Year 1 timetable

Phonics and Spellings: English: Maths: PSHE: Additional Activities:

Ask your grown up to test you on this week's spellings.

We have been looking at

alternative spellings for the /oa/ phoneme.  Write the words in the phoneme frame.

Look carefully at each word.

What graphemes make the /oa/ sound?

Today's task is using your work from the last two days to write a retelling of this week's focus text.

The vocabulary work you completed yesterday will help you to add interesting language into your writing.

Try to write at least one sentence for each image. Think carefully about what you would like to include in each sentence, before you start writing, to ensure that each sentence makes sense.

Once you have finished, please ask a grown up to email your completed piece of writing to our class email address.

1. Warm up your Maths brain with the BBC Supermovers warm up - the 5 times table with the Posh Pooch!

2. Work through the PowerPoint below - make sure you pause after each question slide to give yourself chance to answer  (the answer slides follow each time).

3. Choose a worksheet to complete - there is a 1 or 3 star challenge available.

If  you are unable to print the worksheets, make your own cards with different amounts on and spread them out on the table. Choose 3 to order from smallest to greatest. You can also use number cards and order these in the same way.

Year 2 Timetable

Spellings: English: Maths: PSHE: Additional Activities:

Ask your grown up to test your spellings.

How many did you get right?

Today we are going to start to think about how we can use segmenting a word to help us spell it.

Have a look at the sheet.  Look at the shapes underneath.  In each shape will be a phoneme.  This means that you will sometimes write a digraph - two letters making one sound in a box.

Think about all the different sounds you can hear as you spell each word.

2. Have a look at the second sheet to try and segment the words into the sounds.

The vocabulary work you completed yesterday will help you to add interesting language into your work.

Think carefully about what you would like to include in each sentence before you start writing.

Can you add an adjective to the sentence?  Say your sentence out loud.  Does it make sense?

Don't forget to think about your punctuation!

Once you have finished, please ask a grown up to email your completed piece of writing to our class email address.
