Meet the Teacher

As a second very unusual academic year draws to a close, we are already planning for next year. While it may be too optimistic to expect that things will be fully back to  ‘normal’,  we certainly hope that it will be less disruptive.

The move to a new class is important and with the transition process, we hope to ensure children feel comfortable in their new surroundings ready for the beginning of the new academic year in September.  To support this, we normally hold transition meetings where the children spend a morning with their new class teacher. Unfortunately, this year  we are not able to run our class visits and transition meetings as normal.  We have taken some of the lessons that we have learned and as a consequence we have arranged for staff videos, where the staff will introduce themselves and hence the children can then see their new teacher. These have been posted  and can be found below.

Reception Tour

In previous years, at our after school ‘Meet the Teacher’  sessions, we have offered parents & carers the opportunity to meet their child’s new class teacher and ask any specific questions.  Over the past few months parents have been able to contact their child’s current class teacher by email and we would invite parents & carers the opportunity to contact their child’s new teacher in the same way.  These email addresses will be operating until 21 July 2021:

With regard to any more general Key Stage questions, Mrs Ruddock (EYFS & Key Stage 1 Leader ) and  Miss Robinson (Key Stage 2 Leader) should be your point of contact and would be only too happy to answer any queries.  Mrs Leeson will be available to answer any questions regarding National Key Stage 1 assessments and Mrs Martin is your point of contact regarding National Key Stage 2 testing and the 11+ examination.  Mrs Haskins will be able to answer any queries regarding additional needs.
