Isolation - End of Term.
It is with great disappointment as I write this, that we not be completing the end of term together in 2LR. I am devastated that this is the way a fantastic year has come to an end. I am extremely proud of every single member of the class and the amount of progress they have made. The reports written only show a sample of this, it has been an absolute pleasure to teach your children. Hopefully the prizes bought for various things will be handed out at the beginning of the next academic year. It is significant now that we look after one another and continue to follow Government guidelines. Please see attached below some activities for the children to complete at home.
Many thanks for the continued support from parents throughout the year, I couldn't have asked for a better first year at St Andrew's. Have a lovely, well deserved Summer holiday.
Last term we began a reading competition where the children with the most parental/guardian signatures would earn a prize.
This has now reset for Term 6. The purpose of the competition is to encourage reading at home, with support of the school bookmarks handed out in Term 4. Please continue to read and sign planners! Planners are monitored every Thursday, where points will be earned per signature - we will not be accepting back-dated signatures.
Welcome to 2LR's webpage!
Class 2LR is a family of hard-working, determined and eager to learn Year 3 and Year 4 children. We always try our best in everything that we do and also have lots of fun along the way! We are taught by Mr Rollinson and are lucky to have Mrs Webb and Mrs Cooper as our Teaching Assistants, who are there to support us with all sorts of things.
Our PE days for Term 6 are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During these sessions we will be progressing in our Swimming, Tennis and Athletics skills. Please ensure school PE kit is washed for Tuesdays and that appropriate sports attire or washed PE kit, is still worn on Thursday.
Please send your child's water bottle in with them every day- they need enough water to last the whole day if possible. We will send them home every afternoon to be washed, refilled and returned the following day - plain water only please.
Your child will have English and maths homework to complete each week. Maths homework will be collected on Mondays, and be returned on Wednesday. English homework is collected on Wednesdays and will be returned on Friday.
Each week your child will be given a set of spellings to practise. They need to complete these in their planners provided by the school. The children should have completed each set of spellings ready to be tested on their spellings on Fridays.
Due to the current circumstances the children are only able to change their school reading book on Thursdays. It is important that the children read as much as possible and we ask that the children read at least is three times a week - planners will be checked each Friday. Please ensure that books are returned before a new reading book can be taken.
Starting and Finishing times
Please ensure children are dropped off between 8:35-8:45 and are collected at 3:15. It is essential you are on time to avoid any contact with other bubbles.
Please do ask if you have any questions.
