Session 1 Session 2 Session 3 Session 4

Additional activities

1. Use relevant video below -

watch either Mrs Jackson's Group or Miss Cook's Group

2. Complete today's Education City activity

Tens and ones

1. Watch the BBC Bitesize clips on counting in tens and ones.

2. Complete the worksheet - matching different representations of a number. If you are unable to print out the sheet, you can always make cards with a range of numbers written on and make representations of the number using items at home.

If you are finding the larger numbers trickier to read, focus on numbers to 20.

Northern Lights poem - today's focus is using the word lists you have created over the last couple of days to begin writing your descriptive poem about the Northern Lights. Begin by watching the short BBC Newsround clip.

Then, work through the PowerPoint video below which includes a simple example of a descriptive poem. You are going to use this example as a template for your poem.

Look carefully at the images or re-watch the video clip. Think back to yesterday's Grammar work on verbs. Can you think of four verbs to describe the Northern Lights? Then, using your ideas from Tuesday, can you think of four adjectives to describe the colour or size of the lights?

Repeat this process once more - you now have 4 lines of a poem! You might even like to make your poem longer. Tomorrow, you will be writing up your work using your best handwriting.

Talk to your grown up about the things that you

are thankful for.  Remember, it is not just presents we are given that we can be thankful for. Draw your picture and write a sentence about what you are thankful for. There is a sheet below, should you wish to use it.
