Session 1: Phonics Session 2: English Session 3: Maths Session 4: Art Session 5: Additional Activities

1. Start with Phonics Play.  Choose the flash cards, speed trial.  How may can you get in one minute?

2. Today we are continuing our work on the /oy/ phoneme.  Read all the words and sort them into the grid.

What do you notice?  Is there anything that can help with our spelling of this phoneme?

3.  Look at the best bet poster for this phoneme.

Our first text this term is 'Hansel and Gretel' by Anthony Browne.

This week we are going to closely explore the text - today's lesson focuses on answering questions about a text.

You will need to watch the PowerPoint below (make sure you have the sound on).

Where you see this symbol on the PowerPoint, pause the video to consider and discuss the questions with a grown up at home.

Where you see this symbol on the PowerPoint, you need to pause the video and write down your ideas (either using the sheet provided or your own sheet of paper if you are unable to print).

1. Warm up your Maths brain with the BBC Supermovers - The 2 Times Table with Bridget the Lioness

2. Work through the PowerPoint below - make sure you pause after each question slide to give yourself chance to answer  (the answer slides follow each time).

3. Choose a worksheet to complete - there is a 1, 2 or 3 star challenge available.

Remember, if you are unable to print the worksheets, you can work from the screen to answer the questions on your own sheet of paper.

To consolidate yesterday's learning, you could also use items at home to make equal groups to match the questions from the sheets (for example buttons, pasta shapes, plastic bottle tops or small toys). Can you label the groups you have made?

This term in Art, we are going to be investigating portraits and developing our drawing skills.

Today's lesson focus is investigating different types of portraits and self-portraits. Start by watching this BBC Bitesize clip of an artist painting a portrait.

Then, work through the PowerPoint below. Remember to pause the video to consider the questions posed (and to enjoy looking at the different pieces of artwork!)

Once you have worked through the PowerPoint, there is a 1 or 2 star challenge to complete - looking at different portraits and choosing the two you like the most.

There are activities set in MyMaths this week for everyone to complete.

Log in details for those of you who have not yet tried MyMaths are at the back of your planners.

The work is set to be completed by the end of the week.

Read to your grown up.
