Sing along to the alphabet with Naomi on BBC Supermovers to help us use our letter names when we are talking about alternative spellings.

Today we are sorting words with the different spellings for /ow/ like in cow.  What do you notice?  Is there anything that can help us when we are spelling words with this phoneme?

This week, our English lessons are going to focus on reading skills. We will be using the text, 'After the Fall' by Dan Santat.

In today's lesson you are going to work on your retelling skills.

Start by watching the PowerPoint video which will outline today's task.

Next, you need to complete the task on the worksheet.

As always, if you are unable to print the worksheet, you could make your own image and sentence cards to sequence.

Once you have finished, please ask a grown up to email your work to our class email address.

1. Start with this counting in 10s game - Duck Shoot (ICT games).

Select the 10 duck on the menu page. In the game, you need to work out which duck to shoot each time by counting in 10s. Look at the target number and look at the start number on the first duck at the bottom and count in 10s.

2. Work through the PowerPoint below - make sure you pause after each question slide to give yourself chance to answer  (the answer slides follow each time).

3. Complete today's activity.

You will need to print  and then cut up or write out the question cards. (Everyone has the same question cards today).

Then, have a look at the instruction sheet for an example of how to set out your work.

You can print out the squared paper (which is just like the squares in your Maths books in the classroom) or use your own paper.

Once you have finished, please ask a grown up to email your work to our class email address.

Today's lesson looks at the animals that live in the Arctic Circle.

1. Watch the video to find out about the animals.  You may want to pause the video so that you can guess what the animals are.

2. There are two worksheets to choose from a 1 and a 2 star sheet.

1 Star.  You will need both the map and the worksheet.  Read the information and stick the animals on the map where thy are found.

2 Star. You will need both the map and the worksheet.  Look closely on the map to answer the questions about where the animals are found.

Enjoy today's story time.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find today's story.

Read to your grown up.  Did you spot any words with today's phoneme in?
