Year 1 timetable

Phonics and Spellings: English: Maths: PE: Additional Activities:

Read your spellings and practice.

In phonics we are starting by reading graphemes, just like we would in school.

Remember, you don't need to print the sheets, you can look them on screen and write on your own paper.

Be careful to make the sounds clearly.

There is a phase 5 poster for you to look

at if you are unsure of the sounds.

Then we are continuing to think about how to spell the /oa/ phoneme.

Today we are focusing on thinking about the main events of our focus text, 'Aurora: A tale of the Northern Lights'.

If necessary, to refresh your memory, watch the video again.

Then, if possible, print out the sheet, cut out the images and place them in the correct order. Once you have done so, use the images to orally retell the story.

1. Warm up your Maths brain with the BBC Supermovers warm up - Counting with John Farnworth

2. Work through the PowerPoint below - make sure you pause after each question slide to give yourself chance to answer  (the answer slides follow each time).

3. Choose a worksheet to complete - there is a 1, 2 or 3 star challenge available.

If  you are unable to print the worksheets, you could draw different amounts on small pieces of paper, select 2 and compare them. You could also use objects at home to compare amounts.

Spellings English Maths PE Additional Activities

Complete the sheet below for one of this week's spellings ready for your test on Friday.

Today we are going to review some of the phase 5 phonemes.  Print and cut out the cards, or write them on a sheet of paper.  Can you sort them into groups of words that share the same sounds.  What alternative spellings did you notice?

Today we are orally retelling the story.

You may want to watch this week's focus text again before you start the activity.

You can look at the pictures on the sheet below, or print them out.

Work out which order they need to go in and then use them to retell the story to a member of your family.

Watch the video below about comparing objects.  You can pause the video at any time so you have time to work out the answers.

There are two sheets of questions to answer.  Make sure you complete the first one - or the challenge and then the second sheet of reasoning questions.  You could choose to challenge yourself with the reasoning sheet too.
