Week Beginning 20 April

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter. Time to get back to lessons now. Please continue to complete the works from your pack. If you're running out, you need to have a look at some of the links at the bottom of this page. White rose is great for maths as well as rock stars. Carry on practising the spellings in you planners - if you're confident that you can read and spell all of the year 1 and 2 words, there is a link to the year 3 & 4 words for you to have a go at.

Today, I thought it might be fun to have a new challenge - we're going to play animal, flower, river, country.

Can you name something in each category that begins with the letter 'B'

Country -

County -

City -

Flower -

River -

Animal -

Football Team -

Colour -

Sport -

You can just have a go or you could ask a grown up to e-mail me your list.

Good Luck.

Good Morning Everyone,

Today, we are going to start a new topic all about Dragons. The first thing that we are going to do is look at some Dragon Poems. You need to read each of the poems and then choose your favourite one. Then I would like you to draw a picture to match the poem and underneath write why you chose that poem as your favourite one.

If you would like to do some extra work, you could try to find some poems of your all about dragons.

Enjoy,

Mrs Leeson and Mrs Evans

Good Morning,

Hope everyone is well this morning.

After receiving so many amazing lists for country, river, town challenge I thought that we could have another go. Today's letter is 'S'.

Please continue sending in your answers, its lovely to see your work.

Carrying on with the Dragon poems. today I would like you to chose one of the poems that rhymes.

Can you find all the rhyming words in the poem? Example - in the Happy Birthday Dear Dragon - lair and there rhyme.

Can you think of anymore words that would rhyme with them? Example - lair, there, stare, care, dare, mare etc.

Can you describe the rhyming pattern? Example - the second and fourth line rhyme and so do the sixth and the eight. is it the same in the next verse?

Good luck,

Mrs Leeson and Mrs Evans

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is St. George's Day which links fantastically with our theme - dragons.

Today, I have put a PowerPoint on our webpage for you to have a look at.

Then, there are lots of activities for you to have a go at all connected to St George over the next couple of days.

Today, you could have a go at the comprehension. Then, you could have a look at the design your own dragon sheets. You could either use one of the dragons for the sheet - give it a name, powers, colour it in (if you can print it) or you could have a go at making one up of your own (ideal if you can't print out).

If parents are happy to, they could send your dragon picture in (photo e-mailed would be fine) and I'll put them on our webpage.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with!!

Today's letter, chosen by someone in our class - L.

(Don't worry if that's not your letter - I will use everyone's ideas)

Have a lovely day,

Mrs Leeson and Mrs Evans

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all having a lovely day. It is beautiful and sunny so I hope you have been outside if possible getting lots of fresh air.

I have been sent lots of amazing work this week - I am so impressed with everything that you are managing to do at home.

Today I have added a couple of maths activities and challenges for you all to have a go at. Don't worry about trying to day them all. Some of them have * in the corner - this tells you how challenging they are. * are the slightly easier, ** are a bit harder and *** are even trickier.

Today 's letter is 'a' - I look forward to seeing what you come up with by Monday. The lists so far have been fantastic.

Next week, I am having my Easter break so I'll put work for the whole week on this page on Monday. Don't worry about e-mailing though - I'll still get back to parents as quickly as I can and I do love to see what you have all been up to.

Take care everyone.

Mrs Leeson
