Welcome to 1EL Class Webpage!

1EL is a class of enthusiastic year 2 children who are keen to learn.  Our class teacher is Mrs Leeson. Mrs Busby, Mrs Prissick, Miss Chamberlain and Mrs Evans support us with our learning as well. 

General Information

Water Bottles
Please send a filled water bottle with your child every day.  Please may we ask that they contain plain water only.  We will refill them with water as needed during the day and send them home with your child to be washed and refilled at the end of each day.
 
Reading
All the children will be given a reading book at their own level.  We usually change our reading books on Tuesdays and Fridays. Please sign your child's planner when you have heard them read at home so that we can clearly see when they are ready to change their book.  We ask that children read at least three times a week and that children's reading books and planners are in school every day. Planners will be checked each week on Mondays.
 
Homework
The children are set maths homework on ‘MyMaths’ every Monday. This work needs to be completed by the following Monday. English homework is handed out on a Thursday. This work needs to be completed and returned by the following Wednesday. 
 
Spellings
We have spellings to learn each week. These are given out on Mondays to be collected in on Friday mornings ready for our test. Each word should be practised four times in the spaces provided. 
 
Our belongings
It is helpful if your child's belongings are named, including their water bottles and coats. We do try to ensure your child returns home with all their belongings and your help with this is much appreciated.
 
PE - Our PE day is Tuesday.  All children are to come dressed in their PE kits on this day.
