St Andrew's C.E. Primary School

Please note - no branded sports kits are allowed.

General Appearance

  • The school does not permit children to have ‘extreme’ haircuts that could serve as a distraction to other children.
  • Children should not come to school wearing make-up or nail varnish.

Jewellery

On health and safety grounds we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. We would always recommend that ears are not pierced during term time and we will always ask the children to remove earrings during PE and games, or cover them with a plaster, to prevent them from causing injury.

Smart watches that include phones or cameras are not allowed in schools.

Footwear

The school wants all children to grow into healthy adults. We believe that it is dangerous for children to wear shoes that have platform soles or high heels, so we do not allow children to wear such shoes in our school. Neither do we allow children to wear trainers to school; this is because we think that this footwear is appropriate for sport or for leisurewear, but is not in keeping with the smart appearance of a school uniform. We require all children to wear shoes as stated in the uniform list.

School Uniform Bank

We are aware that school uniform can be costly, and with this in mind, we would like to support our school community by making good-quality second-hand uniform easily available to everyone.

Many items of uniform have a longer life beyond when our children have outgrown them and could be re-used by other pupils. As well as saving families money, re-using uniform also reduces our impact on the environment.

With the continued rise in household costs, we hope this initiative can make a small difference by helping some of our families to access uniform for their children. There will be no charge for anyone wishing to collect items from the uniform bank. Our new intake families are also very welcome to access the uniform bank prior to children starting school.

If you require any items from the uniform bank, please contact the school office at enquiries@st-andrews-woodhall.lincs.sch.uk Mr Peacock our school caretaker has a huge stock of items in various sizes which he has kindly washed and organised for us. He will be happy to check availability for you.
