St Andrew's C.E. Primary School

Enriching Lives

School Uniform

We believe that a school uniform promotes a sense of belonging to and pride in one's school and as such we do expect that all children should wear the St. Andrew's uniform as agreed by the Governing Body.

General Appearance

  • The school does not permit children to have ‘extreme’ haircuts that could serve as a distraction to other children.
  • Children should not come to school wearing make-up or nail varnish.

All children are to come into school wearing their PE Kit on their allocated PE days.

* Where EYFS children in age 3/4 years PE t shirts are not available to purchase, a plain navy t shirt will be acceptable.

No hoodies are allowed.

On health and safety grounds we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. We would always recommend that ears are not pierced during term time and we will always ask the children to remove earrings during PE and games, or cover them with a plaster, to prevent them from causing injury.

Smart watches that include phones or cameras are not allowed in schools.

The school wants all children to grow into healthy adults. We believe that it is dangerous for children to wear shoes that have platform soles or high heels, so we do not allow children to wear such shoes in our school. Neither do we allow children to wear trainers to school; this is because we think that this footwear is appropriate for sport or for leisurewear, but is not in keeping with the smart appearance of a school uniform. We require all children to wear shoes as stated in the uniform list.
