The Eagle Knight Poetry Competition
An exciting opportunity!
Would you like to be a published author? This is your chance!
The Eagle Knight poetry competition is open to all children in school. To enter, you just need to write a poem based on one of the school’s Christian values:
Generosity, Compassion, Courage, Thankfulness, Friendship, Trust, Hope, Service
It can be any type of poem; acrostic, rhyming, haiku, free-verse, list poem etc. There are lots of examples below.
Once you have written your poem, please send it to sevenknights@st-andrews-woodhall.lincs.sch.uk
All children will receive an ‘Eagle Knight’ certificate for entry and some key stage 2 entrants will be selected to receive their ‘Eagle Knight’ badge.
A selection of the best poems from each age group will be selected to be published in a book. There is also a possibility that BBC Radio Lincolnshire may be able to provide an opportunity for children to read their poems ‘live on air’ during their daytime and breakfast show.
You can enter as many times as your imagination allows. You could even enter one poem for each of the values!!
Good luck everyone!
