For a number of years, St Andrew's has used Parentmail as an effective means of communicating with parents and carers.  By using this system we feel it:

  • Saves money, at least £2,000 every year
  • Reduces administrative workload
  • Cuts environmental impact

It is simple to use because it’s web-based.  There is no software to install or maintain and it can be used from any computer with Internet access.

For Parents/Carers, you have just one account irrespective of the number of children, and you can receive newsletters, bulletins and instant reports.  All you need to do is register with your mobile phone number and e-mail address.

As a school however, we would stress that the system supports and enhances communication.  It should not and never will replace face to face contact and direct communication.

Frequently Asked Questions

Problems logging on to the ParentMail website?

Sometimes PC security settings can be set too high and they prevent you from logging on to the ParentMail website.

Here are some recommended tips;

  • Select TOOLS and then Internet Options (from the top of the browser window)
  • Select the SECURITY tab
  • Select the Green Trusted sites image, and then select the SITES button just below
  • Enter the full address of ParentMail i.e. www.parentmail.co.uk then choose OK
  • Next select the PRIVACY tab, and then on the slider bar choose either the 'low' or 'medium' setting before selecting the APPLY button at the bottom. (You may need to experiment with this 'cookie' setting if you find that you cannot log in to your ParentMail account on the website).

Problems receiving emails at home?

The number 1 reason that parents do not get ParentMail emails is that their ´internet service providers´ (ISP´s) have put messages automatically into a JUNK/SPAM folder! In some cases email can be removed/blocked before it even reaches your SPAM folders!

To prevent this is it necessary to make sure that our email address (messages@parentmail.co.uk) is added to your trusted/approved list so that it reaches you reliably and without interference. If you are using any personal PC security products i.e. Anti-Virus, Firewall, Anti-Spam or Anti-Spyware products you need to realise that ALL of these can interfere with emails that you might want to receive!

Receiving ParentMail messages at work

If you are registering a work email address to receive our messages, you need to be aware that the company may use spam filters to get rid of messages from people they don´t know or recognise. To avoid this contact the IT Manager or Webmaster and ask him/her to add messages@parentmail.co.uk to their approved list of email senders. This should mean that our emails will reach you without being intercepted.

ParentMail recommends all the above as ´sensible´ settings and procedures (in our opinion) which will provide reasonable protection and still permit access to most websites. We offer this advice in good faith but accept NO LIABILTY/RESPONSIBILITY for any result of using/applying these settings. If you are unsure we recommend that you seek professional assistance.
