Welcome to Term One - I hope you had a wonderful Summer break and are ready for an exciting term ahead? We are delighted to welcome the children back into school - particularly after a strange few months. It has been wonderful to see all of our children in school and eager to learn!
At the beginning of the term we will focus on settling in and getting to know the children (and them us!). We will then move to our theme of 'Home Sweet Home.' Further information can be find in our termly newsletters, located further down the page. (You should have also received copy via ParentMail).
We encourage all the children to be independent coming into school and finding their own pegs and where to put their belongings etc. We thank you for your support in this matter - Miss Cook and I have already been very impressed with how quickly the children have settled into school life!
Year 1 children:
We will be using a range of texts linked to our theme in English sessions, starting with 'Here Comes Mr Postmouse' by Marianne Dubuc. In our History sessions, we will be finding out about how homes have changed over time. We will also be exploring structures in DT. In Science this term, we will be learning about the human body, including our senses and skeleton.
Please also note, if your child is being collected by someone else, we must have notification (either written or through telephoning the school). If you have any questions, please ask or make an appointment to see us, again through the school office.
Many thanks and we hope you are as excited about the new school year as we are!
