Welcome to Term One - I hope you had a wonderful Summer break and are ready for an exciting term ahead? We are delighted to welcome the children back into school, ready for the new year and eager to learn.
At the beginning of the term we will focus on settling in and getting to know the children (and them us!). We will then move to our theme of 'Colours of the Rainbow' and later in the term, 'Autumn'. Further information can be find in our termly newsletters, located further down the page. (You should have also received a copy via ParentMail).
We encourage all the children to be independent coming into school and finding their own pegs and where to put their belongings etc. We thank you for your support in this matter.
Over the course of the year, we will also be using Tapestry which all Reception parents and carers have had a registration email for, any problems, please ask.
Year 1 children:
We will be using a range of texts linked to our theme in English sessions, starting with 'The Colour Monster' by Anna Llenas. In our Geography sessions, we will be finding out about the four countries of the UK. We will also be exploring colour mixing in Art. In Science this term, we will be learning about seasonal changes.
Please also note, if your child is being collected by someone else, we must have notification (either written or through telephoning the school). If you have any questions, please ask or make an appointment to see us, again through the school office.
Many thanks and we hope you are as excited about the new school year as we are! We look forward to working with you over this academic year.
