A Commitment to Safeguarding
Our children said:
"I feel safe when I am with grown ups I know and trust."
"I feel safe when I am with my family, friends, teachers and people I trust."
"I feel safe when I am at home, at school and when I am with a trusted adult."
"We feel safe when we are in the hands of trusted adults, who provide protection, as they guide us through obstacles in life; enabling us to make our own informed choices. "
"I feel safe when I am not alone."
"I feel safe when I am with a grown up that I know will look after me."
"Safe means not coming to harm and feeling comfortable, secure and protected in an unfamiliar environment. When you feel safe you trust people around you so feel relaxed and calm."
Our Commitment to Safeguarding
We aim to work in partnership and have an important role in the inter-agency safeguarding arrangements as set out by the current versions of Working Together to Safeguard Children and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). KCSIE applies to all school, colleges and providers who educate children up to the age of 19.
Everyone working in, or for our school, shares an objective to help keep children and young people safe by contributing to:
- providing a safe environment for children and young people to learn and develop in our school setting
- identify children and young people who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm, and taking appropriate action with the aim of making sure they are kept safe both within and outside of our school setting
- creating a whole school approach to safeguarding through a culture of care where children are listened to, and heard, with the knowledge that their concerns and worries will be taken seriously
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all our children. Each child’s welfare is of paramount importance. We will always take a considered and sensitive approach in order that we can support all our children.
